Dubai’s Final World Trade Centre Roundabout Bridge Set to Open on 30 October
RTA plans to open the final World Trade Centre Roundabout bridge on 30 October 2026, improving connections between Al Majlis Street and 2nd December Street.
Dubai’s final World Trade Centre Roundabout bridge is scheduled to open on Friday, 30 October 2026, marking another step in the city’s investment in everyday connectivity. The new link will serve traffic traveling from Al Majlis Street toward 2nd December Street, connecting established neighborhoods with one of Dubai’s busiest business and events districts.
The opening was announced by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on 25 October. As of this article’s publication on 26 October, the bridge has not yet opened; the journey-time improvements below are RTA’s stated expectations.
AED 696 Million Investment in a Key Dubai Junction
The wider World Trade Centre Roundabout Development Project represents an investment exceeding AED 696 million. Its five bridges have a combined length of five kilometers, while the former roundabout has been converted into a ground-level intersection supported by elevated road connections.
The final bridge is 1,000 meters long, with two lanes and capacity for approximately 3,000 vehicles per hour. It completes a program designed to improve movement between major roads and surrounding commercial and residential areas.
Which Journeys Are Expected to Become Shorter?
For the direct journey from Al Majlis Street to 2nd December Street, RTA expects travel time to fall from six minutes to one minute. Separately, the completed junction improvements are expected to reduce average intersection delays from 12 minutes to 90 seconds. These are different measures, rather than two estimates for the same journey.
Improved connections to Sheikh Zayed Road and surrounding routes should help people traveling through the World Trade Centre area. For residents, employees and visitors, the practical benefit is easier movement between established districts and major business destinations.
Why Central Dubai Connectivity Matters to Homebuyers
For anyone comparing Dubai homes, a location is more than a pin on a map. The route to work, access to nearby services and the journey home during busy periods can shape how convenient an address feels day to day.
For readers exploring Al Satwa and nearby central districts, Jumeirah Garden City is one neighborhood to consider. Here, FAUCHON Résidences by Prestige One offers a branded residential address within the wider central Dubai setting. Our FAUCHON branded residences guide looks more closely at the project and its neighborhood.
Better road connections can support a location’s convenience, but they do not establish a guaranteed increase in property prices or rental returns. Buyers should assess the actual route from a particular building, alongside the home, surrounding amenities and ownership costs. A junction-wide time saving should not be treated as a promised door-to-door commute.
How the Project Fits Dubai’s Wider Road Improvements
The roundabout works complement the Al Mustaqbal Street Development Project, which is scheduled for completion in 2027. That program includes bridges and tunnels, alongside widening the street from three to four lanes in each direction, with a stated capacity increase of 33%.
Together, the projects show how established areas continue to evolve alongside Dubai’s newer communities. For a wider perspective on transport-led urban change, read our report on Dubai’s new 80-kilometer road corridor, or explore Prestige One’s projects to compare locations across the city.
