Dubai Launches Digital Property Sales Through the Dubai Now App

Dubai has introduced another digital route for property transactions. On 13 October 2025, Dubai Land Department announced the first phase of its Digital Sale service through the Dubai Now app during GITEX Global.

A Remote Route for Eligible Transactions

The announcement describes an online process covering the sale contract, signatures through UAE Pass, payment and the issue of an ownership certificate. The aim is to reduce the need for in-person steps in qualifying transactions.

The initial service has conditions. The department specified valid Emirates IDs and active UAE Pass accounts for both parties, a UAE bank account, and a single-owner property without a mortgage. Eligible property categories were residential units, commercial units and residential townhouses in freehold areas. Buyers and sellers should confirm the applicable requirements directly with the department.

Digital Convenience Is Not a Property Assessment

The launch concerns how an eligible sale is processed. It does not establish the condition of a home, the quality of a location or the suitability of a purchase for a particular buyer. Those remain separate questions, even when administrative steps become easier to complete.

Nor should a citywide service announcement be read as confirmation that every off-plan purchase or individual development can use it. Transaction type, ownership status and the service’s current rules still matter.

Location Remains Central to the Residential Decision

For the real estate sector, a more convenient transaction channel does not remove the value of clear documentation. Understanding the property, the agreed terms and the responsibilities of each party remains part of a considered purchase.

As October’s digital initiatives move into use, the useful distinction is between a simpler administrative journey and the underlying decision to buy. Technology can support the former without making the latter automatic.
